Enhanced Systems & Products was founded to address a market need for specialty lab gas equipment. Focusing for the first four to five years on lab gas equipment and gaining a reputation for excellence in design and products, ESP was eventually asked to engineer additional custom solutions.

First, a customer requested a HEPA filter for a plumbing vent at a time when HEPA filters were only thought of in relation to HVAC. Second, a customer requested a decontamination shower system for hospitals. Additionally, customers requested custom ice melt sinks, custom stainless steel sinks and custom polypropelene sinks for specialty applications.

All of these requests have helped to expand the capacity and offerings of Enhanced Systems & Products, as we’ve remained focused on the customer and providing solutions that work. That’s why we say  “We know what you need ! ”.

About Our Founder

Robert Schopf, Jr. is a 1984 BSME graduate of Drexel University. During and after his tenure at Drexel, Bob worked with Stone & Webster Engineering Company, an Architectural Engineering & Construction Firm (AE&C) where they designed fossil and nuclear power plants.

After Stone & Webster, Bob moved into engineering sales, selling air and gas purification systems to engineering firms in the mid-Atlantic region.  Though successful in this role, he wanted to get back to the design process that he most enjoyed, so he moved to a major gas equipment manufacturer where he became head of the design group responsible for a gas equipment department with millions in annual revenue.

One of the recurring themes that Bob encountered during his positions in both sales and design was a glaring gap in the design of specialty gas equipment. He continually saw the need (and an opportunity) for a dedicated specialty gas equipment organization, a go-to expert in this growing niche. He soon coined the phrase, "You don't buy your car from Mobil Oil, so why would you buy your specialty gas equipment from a specialty gas supplier?"  So, in 1999, Bob started Enhanced Systems & Products.
